Where parking fines may be paid?
Effective Friday, October 31, 2025 at Close of Business (4:59 PM), the Parking & Transportation office will officially transition to a No-Cash Payment system for all financial transactions.
Cash, checks, and money orders will no longer be accepted for payments related to:
- Citations
- Parking Permits (VSU utilizes License Plate Recognition; no physical permits issued)
Payments within the first ten (10) days of a citation being issued:
- You may pay online in the with no additional penalties.
- You may pay in-person at the parking office via FLEX (if you have cash only, please visit either the Student Union or Odum Library kiosk to deposit the funds directly into your FLEX account first).
- Your physical 1Card is required for the kiosks as well as for the FLEX payment in the office.
After ten (10) days, all unpaid parking citations will be placed in your student account in Banner (a one-time late fee will apply to each citation). “Late” tickets will no longer be available for payment in the Parking Portal.
- Citations sent to Banner must be paid via the (credit/debit card or web check) or directly at the Bursary (cash, check, or money order).
- A hold will be placed on the student’s account in Banner, which may affect the ability to register for classes.
When Late Fees Are Applied to Parking Fines-
- Failure to pay or appeal a parking or traffic fine within ten (10) days after the citation is issued will result in a $5.00 penalty assessment for each citation.
Note: “State of Georgia” parking and traffic violations cited by VSU Police Department must be paid or appealed to the State Court of Lowndes County.
